You are here: International Training

Welcome

Welcome to the International Training, Seminars and Visits section of our website, which gives details of programmes that we, at the training division of The House Magazine, can provide in response to the growing global market of customers seeking insight into the workings of our national institutions, and those of the European Union and the wider international community.

In the United Kingdom, we have been through a sustained period of managed change in our approach to public administration and service provision for the last twenty years.

The civil service has changed dramatically during this time, with the establishment of executive agencies, non-ministerial departments and other public bodies. The relationship between Westminster, the nations, local government, and the regions, has been changed profoundly. We have a regulatory framework covering all aspects of public service delivery performance, and we have instituted an ongoing constitutional reform programme affecting Parliament itself.

We can share the lessons we have learnt from our experiences with delegates from around the world, who come here to seek information about the rationale for change and the processes which have worked most effectively here.

The European Union has also changed beyond recognition during this period. We can provide expertise on which ideas, practices and structures can most usefully be implemented in different national contexts, or on how solutions which have worked in the EU can be modified for incorporation in other nations’ administrative, legal and parliamentary development programmes.

Westminster Explained has hand-picked leading speakers, tutors and coaches to deliver these exciting, informative and challenging programmes. We cover a wide range of subject areas within our fields of expertise, all of which can be developed and tailored to meet precise needs, whether they are knowledge- or skills-based, and whether the current focus is on the UK, the EU or the workings of other international organisations.

Our bespoke courses consist of a range of one-, two- or three-day events, which can be combined into coherent week-long or two-week long programmes, specifically designed to fit delegates’ requirements perfectly.

We look forward to welcoming you to your own tailor-made Westminster Explained course soon.
